03Syllabus

What you will learn, in order.

Lesson films are narrated with an AI voice, over visuals made with AI tools and checked by our team. Saarthi, the coach, is an AI. Mentors and reviewers are people.

Part 1 · The AI core, shared by every stream

00Set up your coach1 hLearn how the core works, write the learning-context document that tells every AI tool who you are, and set Saarthi up as a coach that makes you think instead of thinking for you.
  1. How this core works6 min
  2. Write your learning-context document8 min
  3. Seven roles for AI, and study modes7 min
01How LLMs work and fail2.5 hBuild a working mental model of a large language model: tokens, prediction, context windows and memory. Then learn its predictable failures (hallucination, sycophancy, stale knowledge, bad arithmetic) and reproduce them yourself.
  1. Tokens and next-word prediction7 min
  2. Context windows and memory7 min
  3. Hallucination, sycophancy and other failures8 min
  4. Lab: one prompt, three models, five failures8 min
02Description and context engineering3.5 hWrite briefs that get the right output the first time: role, task, context, examples and format. Then make them reusable with Claude and ChatGPT Projects, Gemini Gems, custom GPTs and NotebookLM, and learn to work with PDFs, spreadsheets and images.
  1. The brief: role, task, context, format8 min
  2. Examples and output formats7 min
  3. Projects in Claude and ChatGPT8 min
  4. Gems, custom GPTs and NotebookLM8 min
  5. Working with files: PDFs, spreadsheets, images8 min
03Verify everything2.5 hCheck AI output the way fact-checkers do: lateral reading, tracing citations and numbers to the original, using deep-research modes without trusting them blindly, and testing a prompt properly with a 10-case golden set.
  1. Lateral reading7 min
  2. Checking citations and numbers8 min
  3. Deep-research modes: use and limits7 min
  4. Your first eval: a 10-case golden set8 min
04Connectors and MCP2 hConnect AI to the places your work lives (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, business data) without writing code. Learn what an MCP server is, why a reviewed directory differs from unreviewed community servers, how to grant the least access that works, and how to keep browser extensions on a short leash.
  1. What connectors and MCP are8 min
  2. Trust, least privilege and the reviewed directory8 min
  3. Browser extensions and AI browsers7 min
  4. Lab: ask the seller-data MCP server, check every answer8 min
05Agents and automations3.5 hHand multi-step work to AI safely. Tell an agent from an automation, decide what to delegate, use browser and coding agents with care, and build an n8n workflow that uses AI with a human-approval step before anything leaves the system.
  1. Agents vs automations: what to delegate8 min
  2. Browser agents, safely7 min
  3. Automation basics with n8n and Zapier8 min
  4. Lab: build an automation with a human-approval step8 min
  5. Failure modes and your failure-mode note7 min
06AI for learning and careers1.5 hUse AI to learn faster without outsourcing the learning, write applications that still sound like you, and practise interviews out loud with Saarthi.
  1. Learning with AI, not instead of learning7 min
  2. Applications in your own voice7 min
  3. Mock interview with Saarthi8 min
07Diligence: law, ethics, integrity2.5 hThe rules that apply when you use AI in India: the DPDP Act 2023 and its 2025 Rules, academic integrity and disclosure, copyright (including where Indian law is still unsettled), and bias. You finish by writing your own AI-use policy.
  1. DPDP Act 2023: personal data and AI8 min
  2. Academic integrity and disclosure7 min
  3. Copyright and AI in India8 min
  4. Bias and fairness7 min
  5. Write your personal AI-use policy7 min
08Core capstone1 hPut all four Ds together on one anonymised marketplace settlement file: ask good questions, automate one step, verify every number against Saarthi's P&L engine, and defend your work live in five minutes.
  1. The capstone brief6 min
  2. Lab: ask, automate, verify8 min
  3. Prepare your 5-minute defence7 min

Part 2 · AI Fashion Design, Prints & Visualisation

01GenAI moodboards that brief a team2 lessonsTurn a vague season idea into a moodboard that a merchandiser, a pattern master and a print team can all act on, with AI doing the exploring and you doing the editing.
  1. A moodboard is a brief, not a collage25 min
  2. Build a nine-tile moodboard in Firefly40 min
02Silhouettes and colour stories2 lessonsUse AI to explore silhouette variations and colourways at speed, then lock them into a line sheet a product developer can cost.
  1. Prompting for silhouette, and why AI cheats on construction30 min
  2. Line sheet: six styles, three colourways, one decision40 min
03Prints and repeats2 lessonsGenerate motifs with AI, then build them into seamless repeats (straight, half-drop, brick) and engineered prints that survive a real printing table.
  1. Repeat types, scale and why AI tiles break30 min
  2. Make a seamless half-drop tile and prove it repeats40 min
04Strike-offs and production-ready prints2 lessonsPrepare prints for screen or digital printing, read a strike-off like a print master, and write notes a mill can act on.
  1. From file to fabric: separations, colour and strike-offs30 min
  2. Separate a print and write strike-off notes40 min
05Tech packs that factories can sample from2 lessonsBuild a complete tech pack (flats, bill of materials, measurement spec, grading and construction notes) with AI help, and prepare files for 3D sampling in CLO 3D or Browzwear.
  1. Anatomy of a tech pack, and where AI helps30 min
  2. Build a tech pack and run an AI consistency check45 min
06Provenance, originality and disclosure2 lessonsKeep a provenance log that proves where every design element came from, avoid imitating named designers or living artists, and label AI-generated visuals honestly.
  1. Originality, ownership and labelling AI work30 min
  2. Audit a collection's provenance before it ships35 min
04Live projects

Two briefs. Real-shaped work.

  1. Project 1

GenAI capsule collection to tech pack, with a provenance log

An example ethnic-wear D2C label (brief supplied by Saarthi, brand anonymised) wants a six-style summer capsule of kurtas and co-ords for working women, in an example price band of ₹1,800–₹2,800. Build the collection from mood to sampling: a moodboard with a written brief, a line sheet cut from 18 candidates to 10 style-colourways with reasons, and a complete tech pack for the two lead styles that a pattern master could sample from without calling you. Every AI-assisted element goes in a provenance log that shows the full prompt, the model, the human changes, a similarity check, and a clear NO for any named designer, label or living artist in prompts. You present to Saarthi playing the label's head of design, who will ask where specific motifs came from and how a seam is finished.

    You hand in

    • Moodboard PDF with five-answer brief, 'Not this season' line, nine labelled tiles and a colour table (names, hex, ratios)
    • Line sheet (Google Sheets) with 18 candidates cut to 10 coded style-colourways and a reason for every drop
    • Two full tech packs (cover, flats, BOM, POM with how-to-measure, formula-driven grading XS–XXL, construction notes) with change logs
    • A 3D hand-off folder for one style (true-scale print, POM table, fabric notes, README)
    • Provenance log covering every element, signed off, with similarity checks and disclosure wording
    • A five-minute recorded walk-through answering the design head's questions

Data: Synthetic brand brief and example factory capability sheet written by Saarthi (no real brand or customer data). Students measure their own garments for base sizes. Competitor scans use only public marketplace listings, viewed, not copied.. Reviewed by Saarthi against a published rubric, signed off by a mentor.

  2. Project 2

Repeat-ready AI print library, with strike-off notes

Build a library of six original prints for the same example D2C label: three half-drop or brick repeats, two straight repeats and one engineered border drawn to a size M kurta hem, with a plan for how it adapts across sizes. Each print must repeat cleanly at a production-ready size you justify, be reduced to a fixed colour count for screen printing and exported separately for digital printing. For two prints, review a sandbox-simulated strike-off and write notes a mill could act on in one pass. Every print carries its provenance, and each one is offered in two colourways from your colour story. Saarthi plays a print-unit manager who will query your repeat sizes, colour counts and the notes.

    You hand in

    • Six prints, each as a layered master and a flattened 300 dpi file at 100% size, versioned and coded
    • Offset-test before/after screenshots and a garment-scale preview for every repeating print
    • Screen separations (one layer per colour) and a digital export for every print, with a print spec sheet
    • An engineered border with a written size-adaptation plan across XS–XXL
    • Strike-off notes for two prints that pass the four-part audit (element, direction, reference, decision)
    • Provenance log rows for every motif, with similarity checks

Data: Synthetic print brief, example repeat constraints and example fabric widths supplied by Saarthi; sandbox strike-off simulations on scanned generic fabric bases when the simulator opens (until then, the practice cases in fash_f1_strike_off_cases.csv). No real brand artwork is provided or used.. Reviewed by Saarthi against a published rubric, signed off by a mentor.

05Practise out loud

In voice mock interviews and client calls, Saarthi plays: Meera, head of design at a Jaipur hand-block-print D2C label selling kurtas and co-ord sets online. She has been burnt by a freelancer who sent AI prints that looked like a famous designer's archive, so she probes hard: where did this motif come from, will it repeat cleanly at 64 cm, what changes on the strike-off, and can her pattern master in Sanganer sample from your tech pack without calling you.

On plans that include mock interviews. You get written feedback after every call.
